Person centred counselling focusses on you. In our sessions, you will have the space to explore what matters most to you, allowing your thoughts and feelings to guide the conversation. Your journey of exploration is at the heart of our work.
I will walk alongside you, helping to clarify and reflect thoughts and experiences in order to create space for new insights and understanding. I work with your pace to feel emotionally safe.

The aim of the psychodynamic approach focuses on the unconscious mind and your past experiences from childhood and up. I help you to explore how they have influenced your present behaviours, thoughts and views. This also encompasses thinking about your early relationships in life, broadening your understanding of how they have impacted your development and sense of self.
Reflections on how past pains have brought about present challenges can help you make sense of these, deepening awareness.
Working in this way to develop clarity brings about the space for healing and positive changes that you wish to make.
In the first session, we will discuss what has led you to seek therapy. This is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and feelings, helping you to set meaningful expectations of what you want to gain from our work together. I will also ask some questions to ensure that our work together is safe, this process helps me understand your needs better and creates a supportive environment for our sessions. Your comfort and safety are my top priorities as we begin this journey together.
Our sessions can be either long or short term, depending on your needs. We'll regularly check in to see how you feel the sessions are working for you. Through this reviewing process you can get an idea of how long you would like to continue. If you feel like you have made the changes you have wanted to make and see therapy coming to a close an ending session can be arranged.
Each session is 50 minutes long, they usually take place on a weekly basis. Flexibility can be available if required if you have irregular shift patterns.
These work in much the same way as other online video meetings, but with an added focus on creating a safe, supportive, and confidential space for therapeutic work. We both ensure we are in a private, quiet, and comfortable environment. This allows for a better therapeutic experience and ensures confidentiality. I will send out a Zoom or Goggle Meets link before each session.
